What is the difference between MOV and MP4, and which should I export?
MOV is Apple's QuickTime container, the format iPhones and Macs record by default. MP4 is the near-universal container that plays on virtually every device, player and social platform. Both can hold the same H.264 or HEVC video, so the difference is mostly compatibility and file size. Export MP4 when you want the video to play and upload anywhere without surprises, which is most of the time. Keep MOV when you are staying inside Apple apps, need to preserve the original container, or a workflow specifically asks for it. EchoWave lets you pick either at export time.
