How do I make a ringtone from a song?

How do I remove a section from the middle of a song?
Split twice and delete once. Put the playhead where the unwanted part starts and split, move it to where the part ends and split again, then select the middle piece and delete it. Ripple delete closes the space so the two remaining halves butt together with no silence between them. If the join lands mid-phrase, drop a quick fade out on the first piece and a fade in on the second, and it will play through as one continuous track.
Can I add fades at the cut points?
Yes. Each audio clip has its own fade in and fade out sliders, adjustable up to ten seconds, so you decide how gently every edit ramps. Fades earn their keep at cuts: slicing through the middle of a waveform can leave an audible click or pop, and a fraction of a second of fade on each side erases it. For a ringtone, a fade out on the tail stops the loop from ending abruptly. Set the durations per clip, preview, and fine-tune until the seam disappears.
How precise can the cuts be?
As precise as the waveform lets you see, which is very. Zoom in until a single kick drum or the gap between two words stretches across the screen, then set the playhead on that exact transient and split. If a cut clips the first beat, nudge the playhead or drag the clip edge a hair rather than starting over. This is where the editor beats a coarse upload-cut-download slider: zoom plus a movable playhead means you land the cut on the downbeat, not near it.
Does cutting an MP3 re-encode it?
Exporting writes a brand new MP3 rather than copying bytes out of the original, and that is what lets fades, splits and a closed-up middle exist in the first place. A single clean render from a good source is transparent to most ears, but re-encoding is still re-encoding, so start from the highest-quality MP3 you have and make every cut in one project instead of exporting and re-cutting repeatedly. If the finished clip sounds quiet, lift it with the volume tool before the final export.
Can I cut WAV, AAC and other formats too?
